Participating in an international short term volunteer project ( sometimes called Workcamp ) is an exciting and meaningful way to travel with purpose and spend up to 3 weeks abroad. Working and living together with other volunteers from around the world provides an excellent opportunity to make new friends, learn about unknown places and culture, gain skills and get valuable experience. Many participants consider their experience as unforgettable, extremely rewarding and life-changing.
CADIP offers a wide variety of short term international volunteer
opportunities:
work with orphans and disadvantaged kids
teaching children from poor communities
nature protection, gardening and forestry
therapeutic and social programs
renovation and restoration of cultural and youth centers
heritage conservation and archaeological excavations
preparation of cultural events: festivals, exhibitions, jazz and rock concerts, etc.
Don’t be afraid to try something different, something you haven’t experienced before.
The work activities' duration is up
to 6 hours a day, five days a week. This work is voluntary and
charitable! Motivation is needed. There's no prerequisite of special
skills or previous experience. The activities are respective of the participants' physical
abilities. Technical leaders lead the working
process and monitor the safety of volunteers. The team work
is foreseen as a way for getting better understanding, building
friendship and also as a good example of awareness of the problems.
Your time, energy, and enthusiasm can make a difference in
areas where help is really needed.
The project language in all countries is English. Basic language
skills are required unless otherwise stated in the description. Just a
few projects make an exception and require Spanish or French.
Volunteering abroad is a good opportunity to
practice and improve your language skills. Get better out
of the classroom.
The volunteers are usually hosted in shared accommodation in community
buildings, schools, farms or tents. They are expected to help with cleaning,
preparing food and domestic chores.
The board and lodging
is
provided and the participants don't pay
for it.
A group of 8 to 15 volunteers with diverse national and cultural
backgrounds come together to spend 1 to 3 weeks united by a common goal - to
donate their voluntary work for a useful project, gain a better
understanding of different cultural views and lifestyles and to foster a
tolerant attitude.
The workcamps welcome tolerant, open-minded and responsible people,
motivated to work in the frame of the project.
Generally people from 5 to 10 different countries take part
in a project. This guarantees
the international character of the volunteer action, and places the participants in a multi-cultural environment. Thus people from
all over the world, all races and different nationalities make friends
and live together.
The multi-cultural environment creates
extremely interesting and unique atmosphere!
Volunteers organize their travel individually and cover the travel costs to the
project place. The volunteers are provided with detailed travel
instructions on how to reach the project place.
The participation fee for a short-term project is
$440.
In some projects (usually in less developed countries) an extra fee may occur ( approx.
$50 to
$250 ). The extra fee is intended to support the local hosts who do not
have sufficient funds. If there is such fee, it always appears at the end
of the project description and is due upon arrival.
During the project accommodation and food is provided so participants
have no expenses related to this.
The
organization is not responsible for any personal expenses such as for
pocket money.
There's no application fee or non-refundable deposits! If you are not placed on a project, you
are not charged anything, not even a penny!
