Creative arts, sports and health program
Victorias       1 - 5 months

Volunteer project: Volunteers in this program will conduct creative arts program for children and promote excellence in arts competition; will actively support sports development and health programs like medical missions, feeding programs and distribution of medical equipment and medical assistance; will support the Family Health Care and Livelihood Program.

Volunteer tasks:
• Assist teachers/staff in academic related activities, share experiences from their home country.
• Assist the coordination of scholarships and health programs.
• Assist the staff/facilitators in conducting community related activities like capacity building programs and other non-formal education activities, etc.

Volunteer profile: Sociable and team player; Having a heart for the disadvantaged and less privileged people; Flexible, open minded and able to adapt to local life situations; Independent under limited supervision; Creative, innovative, adventurous and fun loving; Competent and with sense of community; Able to organize sports, music, arts, etc. activities for children and youth in public schools and communities.

Duration of the project: 1 to 5 months. The project runs year round.

Care for sick and malnourished children in Cebu
Cebu       1 - 5 months

Volunteer project: International volunteers will support a community organization for the sick and malnourished children from poor families in Cebu City. It is run by nuns (Sisters of Mother Teresa). The project activities include providing medical care and personal assistance to children, playing with them, assisting staff with the organization’s activities and feeding the children.

Volunteer tasks:
• Assist staff, local volunteers and the sisters in everyday activities
• Assist the organization in visiting communities to provide medical assistance
• Create recreational activities for the children
• Feed and clean the children

Volunteer profile: Passionate about the work, and compassionate toward their fellow human beings; able to actively support children’s needs; flexible, open-minded and able to adapt to local realities; patient and independent.

Providing assistance and care to the aged and destitute in Cebu
Cebu       1 - 5 months

Volunteer project: Volunteer help is needed in a community organization that provides short and long term stay, assistance and care to the aged, dying and abandoned. It is run by the Sisters of Mother Teresa. The project participants will provide personal assistance to the elderly, will support the staff in feeding, medical care, and the general activities of the organization.

Volunteer tasks:
• Assist elders and the sisters in everyday activities
• Assist in feeding and cleaning the elders
• Organize recreational activities for the elders or teach lessons in the free time

Volunteer profile: Passionate about the work, and compassionate toward their fellow human beings; able to actively support people in need, including orphans and indigent, elderly, hospice patients in the community; patient, flexible, open-minded and able to adapt to local realities.

Language: English

Music, sports and language education program for students
Consolacion       1 - 12 months

Volunteer project: The project supports a Christian school with students from Nursery, Kindergarten, Elementary and Junior High School. It is situated in a peaceful community where public transportation is readily available. It is only about 10 minutes’ drive to the nearest mall and hospital facilities.
The project aims towards leadership development, enhanced learner activities, academic excellence, relationship building, neighborhood outreach, ethical/moral development, and global awareness. The project activities include teaching, assisting during school camps and school field trips, organizing school events, musical productions, community outreach, workshops, seminars, etc.

Volunteer tasks:
• Teaching music, arts and/or sports
• Teaching a foreign language
• Assisting and facilitating training programs such as a leadership workshop, etc.

Volunteer profile: Music, arts and/or sports enthusiast; open-minded about working with a Christian learning institution, flexible, able to adapt to local realities. Knowledge in web design and photo and video editing would be a plus.

Duration of the project: 1- to 5-month long placements take place from June to March. 6- and 12-month long placements start in February and August.

Teaching and organizing extra-curricular activities in an elementary school
Barili       1 - 5 months

Volunteer project: Barili is a municipality in the province of Cebu, with a population of 73,862. The volunteer project supports the Elementary School in Patupat barangay of Barili, located 67 km South from Cebu City.
The aim of the project is to promote students' learning potential through various academic and extra-curricular programs and activities, and give students the opportunity to learn about new cultures and interact with foreign nationals. The project participants will teach, organize and cooordinate club activities, assist during school camps and field trips, support other school work, etc. They will also assist in the development of the Music, Arts and Sports program in the school, and will assist in tutorial sessions and/or teach a foreign language.

Volunteer tasks:
• Assist teachers in teaching and organizing school activities
• Help the teachers and school nurse in health education and physical fitness activities for the children
• Plan, organize and roll out capacity building and leadership training seminars for children
• Assist in school trainings and sport activities
• Mingle with children, volunteers and other partners to share culture and experiences

Volunteer profile: Flexible, open-minded and adaptable; sociable and able to easily mingle with officials, staff, volunteers, etc.; independent and able to work with less supervision; innovative, industrious, adventurous, creative and fun loving.

Support, activities and advocacy for the deaf community in Lapu-Lapu
Lapu-Lapu       1 - 12 months

Volunteer project: The project is in cooperation with a non-government organization, working to enable persons with disability to grow and develop as independent, integrated and empowered citizens in the society. They work closely with various partners and stakeholders on programs that aim to promote the human rights of deaf people and volunteering for the deaf community, to increase participation of deaf people in the electoral process, and enhance their skills and opportunities.
The project activities include: special education on knowledge, skills and attitude as well as life skills; organizing activities for the deaf community; capacity building for deaf organizations; advocacy for the rights of deaf people; deaf education (formal, non-formal, sports, arts, etc.); adaptive sports program and adaptive dragon boat racing; facilitation, logistics, coordination of seminars, workshops, retreats and camps for deaf people.

Volunteer tasks:
• Participate in sports and recreational activities
• Assist the staff/trainers/facilitators in the preparation of activities
• Assist the staff in the daily office work like development of promotional materials, print, audio and video presentations
• Assist in advocacy campaigns in schools, communities, institutions and other events
• Mingle with people with disability, volunteers and other clients/partners to share culture and experiences

Volunteer profile: Committed and dedicated, willing to make a difference for people with disability; competence and creativity; flexible, open-minded and able to adapt to local realities; loving sports; independent and requiring less supervision; willing to learn sign language; innovative, industrious, adventurous and fun loving; commitment to regular updates/reporting/monitoring through mobile and online communication.

Empower youth through leadership education and training
Dumaguete, Negros Oriental       1 - 12 months

Volunteer project: Volunteers are invited to work with a youth empowerment and development organization, recognized by the Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education. The organization has empowered more than 200,000 youths and teachers in all its programs and activities in the Philippines and the region. The aim is to empower local youth to be better citizens by providing them with opportunities in leadership, community service, social action and exchange. They work towards leadership building through various activities including Intensive leadership camp, Weekend leadership training, School based training, Children and Youth camp, Asia Pacific summer leadership camp.

Volunteer tasks:
• Assist in different leadership and socio-civic activities
• Assist the trainers/facilitators in leadership and youth camp activities
• Teach English or other foreign language to children/youth in the school
• Assist the development of arts, music and sports programs
• Assist the promotion and resource mobilization efforts of the organization
• Spend time with children, volunteers, staff, clients and partners
• Assist in office or administrative tasks
• Travelling and training clients all over the Philippines
