Volunteer project: The volunteers in this project will promote English language learning in a non-formal way, will help in the organization of the International Youth Day and International Volunteer Day, will raise awareness in the prevention of HIV/AIDs and STD related diseases through capacity building and mobilization efforts, will take part in the most popular Sinulog festival in the Philippines and will be involved in the celebration of Women’s month.

With the support and assistance of social institutions, local volunteers and community residents, the international volunteers will take part in activities such as:
- Help in the renovation of classrooms and facilities like repainting and beautification;
- Assist in the provision of nutrition, health care and wellness to local children and youth;
- Interact with the local children and youth through art, sports and team building activities;
- Cultural exchange through music, games, food, language, etc.;
- Teach English language to the local community;
- Participate in the training and prevention campaign on HIV/AIDS and STDs;
- Experience a rich cultural festival;
- Volunteer advocacy campaign through art and festival.

Language: English

Leisure time: During leisure time, volunteers can choose to visit various cultural heritage sites, eco-tourism adventure activities or head to the nearest pristine white sandy beaches around the island of Cebu.

Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in a local community facility at the project site. Please, bring your own sleeping bag. Filipino food will be prepared by the local community and the volunteers are encouraged to assist so they can become familiar with the traditional Filipino way of preparing and cooking food.

Location: Cebu City is the second biggest city in the Philippines and is rich in cultural and heritage sites. It is known as “The Queen City of the South”. It is a center of Catholic Religion that draws millions of Filipinos flocking to the city during the month of January to celebrate the Feast of Senior Santo Nino as well as participate in the most awaited Sinulog Festival, the most popular festival in the Philippines.

Youth empowerment project
Sirao, Cebu       2 projects of 2 wks in February and April

Volunteer project: In this project, we collaborate with the Cebu City local government through the Barangay Sirao government to promote local youth empowerment. The aim is to promote love of local village life as well as develop rich intercultural understanding of local culture. The project also aims to assist the renovation of a barangay community facility as part of the youth’s contribution to social service related endeavors.

With the support and assistance of Cebu City local government, the volunteers will engage in the following activities:
- Organization of a youth camp
- Assisting in the renovation of a community center (refurbishing, repainting and beautification)
- Interacting with local children and youth through art, sports and team building activities
- Cultural exchange through music, games, food, language, etc.

Language: English

Leisure time: During leisure time, volunteers can choose to visit various cultural heritage sites, eco-tourism adventure activities or head to the nearest pristine white sandy beaches around the island of Cebu.

Teach English and celebrate local culture in Negros Oriental
Bais, Negros Oriental       March 22 - April 3, 2017

Volunteer project: This project on the island of Negros Oriental provides rich intercultural learning experiences in partnership with the local government and universities. Participants will promote English language learning in a non-formal way, will get an insight into local way of life, will join and celebrate local festivals to promote preservation of local culture.

With the support and assistance of universities and the local government of Negros Oriental, local and international volunteers will take part in different activities:
- Help in the renovation of classrooms and facilities including repainting and beautification;
- Interacting with local children and youth through art, sports and team building activities;
- Cultural exchange through music, games, food, language, etc.;
- Teaching English to the local community;
- Experiencing a rich cultural festival.

Language: English

Leisure time: Negros Island is rich in sea and land natural resources. Volunteers can visit various cultural and heritage sites like Bais Azucarera and Silliman University - the first Protestant American University in the Philippines. There’s also unique and exciting eco-tourism adventure activities like mountain trekking, cave exploration, dolphin watching or visit to the famous Apo Island with the most beautiful natural marine park.

Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in a local community facility at the project site. Please, bring your own sleeping bag. It’s home to the best known Silliman University, the country’s first Protestant university and the first American university in Asia.

Promote English language learning and organize a youth camp
Dumaguete, Negros Oriental       April 5 - April 17, 2017

Volunteer project: This project is organized in partnership with the Department of Education and the Negros Oriental Provincial Government. The project aims to promote English language learning in a fun and non-formal way, to showcase the Silliman University festival and promote preservation of local history and culture, as well as to organize a local youth camp for Negros Oriental youth. Philippines is regarded as one of the English speaking countries in Asia. With a number of English language schools established in the country catering mostly to South Korean and Japanese nationals, we see it fitting to introduce a language camp in a local community setting at the most practical way with the most friendly and hospitable Filipino people.

Volunteers’ tasks consist of:
- Teaching English language to the local community
- Organizing a youth camp for the Negros Oriental youth
- Experience a rich cultural festival
- Cultural exchange through music, sports/games, food, language, etc.
- Interacting with local children and youth through art, sports and team building activities

Leisure time: Negros Island is rich in sea and land natural resources. Volunteers can visit various cultural and heritage sites like Silliman University - the first Protestant American University in the Philippines, old churches and local heritage sites in the city. The Negros Oriental Province is also famous for the unique and exciting eco-tourism adventure opportunities like mountain trekking to Mt. Talinis, kayaking in Lake Balinsasayao, cave exploration in Mabinay, dolphin watching in Bais City, the famous Apo Island with the most beautiful natural marine park for diving and snorkeling or swimming at the natural hot and cold springs in Valencia.

Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in a dormitory in Dumaguete City. Please, bring your own sleeping bag. Filipino food will be prepared by the local community and the volunteers are encouraged to assist so they can become familiar with the traditional Filipino way of preparing and cooking food.

Youth camp and Disaster preparedness campaign in Medellin
Medellin, Cebu       April 19 - May 1, 2017

Volunteer project: In November 2013 Medellin was severely hit by typhoon Haiyan and Barangay Kawit was among the places that experienced the worst destruction of properties, hundreds of lives and livelihood gone. The town is still suffering from the catastrophe. This project hopes to open an opportunity for learning and understanding disaster preparedness and mitigation activities of the local community and how they cope with life and move forward.

With the support and assistance of the Medellin Local Government, community and international volunteers will work together on the following activities:
- Take the lead in the organization of a youth camp for the youth of Medillin;
- Organizing disaster preparedness advocacy campaigns and activities for the communities;
- Environmental activities such as coastal clean-up, tree planting, advocacy, etc.;
- Interacting with local children and youth through art, sports and team building activities;
- Cultural exchange through music, games, food, language, etc.

Leisure time: The town of Medellin is known for its vast scenic sugar plantation, rich mangrove forest, natural white sandy beaches and their famous “Fantastic Island”. Various eco-tourism activities are offered within the town. The beautiful nearby islands of Bantayan and Malapascua are also perfect diving destinations for diving enthusiasts. During leisure time, volunteers can choose to experience various eco-tourism adventure activities around the northern towns and islands of Cebu. The island is also rich with heritage sites as well as natural mangrove parks and the world famous crystal clear blue sea waters and white sandy beaches.

Accommodation: The group will be accommodated at a local women’s community center at the project site. Please, bring your own sleeping bag. Filipino food will be prepared by the local community and the volunteers are encouraged to assist so they can become familiar with the traditional Filipino way of preparing and cooking food.

Location: The coastal barangay of Kawit, Medellin, Cebu is located in the Northern tip of Cebu Island. It is around 135 km away from Cebu City with a population of about 50,000 people.

Organizing festivals and promoting the cultural heritage of Argao
Argao, Cebu       April 26 - May 8, 2017

Volunteer project: In this project, we partner with the local government of Argao and youth associations who aim to promote the heritage of their town and showcase the rich culture of its people. The volunteers will develop better understanding of the local culture by assisting in the organization of festivals centered around preserving the culture and nature as well as interaction with the local youth.

With the support and assistance of the Argao local government, the community and the international volunteers will have the chance to engage in the following activities:
- Assisting in the organization and participating in the festivals;
- Environmental activities such as coastal clean-up, tree planting, advocacy, etc.;
- Interacting with local children and youth through art, sports and team building activities;
- Cultural exchange through music, games, food, language, etc.

Leisure time: Like any coastal town of Cebu, Argao is known for its scenic natural white sandy beaches, nature parks and is famously called “The Heritage Town” of Cebu due to its well preserved heritage sites and the rich culture of the happy and hospitable local people. During leisure time, volunteers can choose to experience various eco-tourism adventure activities around the town of Argao and climb mountains or explore its rivers, waterfalls and caves or head to nearby towns that are famous for whale shark watching. Rich heritage sites like churches and museums, nature parks and the world famous crystal clear sea waters are among the many other places that volunteers can visit, experience and explore.

Accommodation: The international participants will be accommodated in a local hostel facility at the project site. Please, bring your own sleeping bag. Filipino food will be prepared by the local community and the volunteers are encouraged to assist so they can become familiar with the traditional Filipino way of preparing and cooking food.

Location: The municipality of Argao is located in the southeast of the province of Cebu which is 68 kilometers (42 mi) from Cebu City. Argao is exactly mid-way between Cebu City and the southern tip of Cebu island Santander. It has a population of around 70,000 people.

Support for disadvantaged children, youth and women
Cordova, Cebu       May 3 - May 15, 2017

Volunteer project: We are looking for highly motivated international volunteers to join this uniquely special project that would involve different intercultural learning activities with the local community. This project is implemented with a women’s civic organization in support of disadvantaged children, youth and women through provision of education for children who are enrolled in Day Care Centers in Cebu City and Cordova as well as skills training and livelihood assistance for young mothers and deaf and hard of hearing youth. The project aims to support facilities that need improvement, nutrition and wellness aid for children and youth as well as skills and livelihood development.

With the support and assistance of local volunteers and community residents, the international volunteers will take part in activities such as:
- Help in the renovation of classrooms and school facilities like refurbishing, repainting and beautification;
- Assist in the provision of nutrition, health care and wellness to local children and youth;
- Undertake environmental related activities like coastal clean-up, arranging garbage disposal area, tree planting, advocacy, etc.;
- Interact with local children and youth through art, sports and team building activities;

Leisure time: Gilutungan Island is surrounded with white sandy beach with crystal clear blue waters where volunteers can swim anytime of the day. There's also several rich natural marine sanctuaries. Volunteers could opt to go for island hopping and enjoy snorkeling or diving, etc. Volunteers can also choose to visit various cultural heritage sites in Mactan Island and Cebu City or experience other eco-tourism adventures like canyoneering, caving, trekking, etc. activities around the island of Cebu.

Location: Barangay San Jose and Sawang Calero are among the poorest and most populous urban communities in Cebu City. Cebu City is the second biggest city in the Philippines that is rich in cultural and heritage sites. Gilutungan Island is a tiny but populous island and among the most disadvantaged islands in the town of Cordova, Cebu. The island is rich in marine and natural resources but suffers from overpopulation, very limited electricity and water supply and lack of proper garbage and waste disposal system.

Rebuilding Bohol after the earthquake
Bohol       2 projects of 2 wks in May

Volunteer project: In 2013 Bohol experienced the worst natural catastrophe when a nearly 7-magnitude earthquake struck the region and caused the loss of thousands of lives, properties and livelihood. The rebuilding project in Bohol is an on-going mitigation program of the local government in communities that were greatly affected by the disaster. Diverse activities await our volunteers, as well as a chance to experience, learn and appreciate the local community’s way of life.

With the support and assistance of the Bohol local government, community and international volunteers will work side by side on the following activities:
- Preparation and participation in the local festival;
- Participation in the on-going rebuilding activities;
- Environmental activities such as coastal clean-up, tree planting, advocacy, etc.;
- Interacting with local children and youth through art, sports and team building activities;
- Cultural exchange through music, games, food, language, etc.

Leisure time: Bohol is known for the scenic and winding Loboc River, chocolate hills, natural white sandy beaches, the tarsier (a small nocturnal animal with large red eyes which is the world's smallest primate) and hospitable local people. In their free time, volunteers can choose to experience various eco-tourism adventure activities around the island of Bohol. The island is also rich with heritage sites like churches and museums as well as nature parks and the world famous crystal clear blue sea waters.
