Volunteer project: The theme of the volunteer project is Working within the community of Granja do Ulmeiro. The volunteers will be inolved in the following activities:
- Cleaning Forest
- River Beach Maintenance
- Support to Local Association Centre
- Promoting Community Festival – music, dance, food
- Promoting “Social Markets” as a Social and Solidary Economic Alternative

Free time activities: Among the different tasks to be fulfilled by the workcamp group, time will be taken to visit the region, namely the city of Coimbra and the beach of Figueira da Foz.

Note: Volunteers can enroll in both projects. Overstays between August 29th and September 1st can be arranged with the local host.

Location: International Youth Centre in the Village of Granja do Ulmeiro (25 km from Coimbra).
Granja do Ulmeiro is a pleasant village in the center of Portugal, placed nearby Coimbra - an ancient university city, and near to Figueira da Foz - a well known beach for tourism and radical sports. Granja has many daily transport connections, especially by train which links to cities like Coimbra, Oporto and Lisbon.

Age range: 18 - 30 years old
